The obvious choice for remote control when using a StreamStor equipped system is to use the remote software provided by the Operating System. In Windows this would be Remote Desktop and in Linux it is usually VNC software. However, there is also a remote server package available with the StreamStor SDK. With this server running on the StreamStor system, a remote application that utilizes the standard StreamStor API can connect to this system over a network and make calls to the StreamStor system through the remote server. The only difference in the user application is the initial call to open the board needs to use the XLRNetOpen function instead of XLROpen. See the StreamStor user manual for more information about this feature.
